If your child played in the Iona Rainbows in 2018 please register them as a SET player. If your child is turning 8 or 9 and has played a season of netball, please register them as a GO player. If they are 10 – 17 years of age in 2019 please register them as a JUNIOR player. Please note that there is only a short window for registration and registrations close on February 10th 2019. No late registrations will be accepted unless there is a vacancy in a team. Individual registrations are accepted for players 8 – 13 years of age and only full team registrations will be accepted for 14 – 17 year olds.
Iona Netball Club are pleased to accept the active kids voucher in 2019. Please apply for your voucher prior to registration and enter the number during the registration process ($100 will then be deducted from your payment balance).
All NET, SET, GO players (5-9 year olds) will receive a ball, netball shirt and other goodies as part of their registration.
NET players (5-7 year olds) register directly through HVNA. Keep an eye on the HVNA website for further details.
All players turning 10 or 11 in 2019 will be required to attend a grading session. This will ensure players are placed in the most appropriate team. Grading sessions for 11 year olds will be held on Thursday 14th February 3.30 – 4.45pm (players will be supervised from 3.20pm and are encouraged to bring a healthy snack and water) and 10 year olds will be held on Friday 15th February 3.30-4.45pm (players will be supervised from 3.20pm and are encouraged to bring a healthy snack and water). Grading reports from the 2018 coaches (which entailed skill, attitude, effort and attendance) will be taken strongly into consideration.
Training times will be dependent on coach and player availability and will be confirmed once teams have been sorted. The majority of training times will be in the morning before school.
All games are played on a Saturday morning at Macquarie Park. Game times cannot be confirmed until the draw is completed by Hastings Valley Netball Association which occurs after all clubs have completed the registration process and entered their teams.
The netball season begins on Saturday 23rd March.
Iona Netball Club playing dresses will be available for sale from the St Columba Anglican School Uniform Shop. The dates which they will be on sale will be advised after registration. Plain white playing socks will also form part of our uniform. Please feel free to sell netball dresses that your daughter has outgrown on the SCAS exchange website. There will be a meeting at St Columba Anglican School for all Iona Sports Club parents in the near future. At this meeting, there will be an opportunity to order an Iona Sports Club winter jacket. Please note we will not be keeping stock of any winter jackets and there will only be one chance to order these for this season.
CANTEEN AND FUNDRAISING
As a club, we will be called upon to do canteen duty, set up and pack down at the courts on a Saturday. Therefore, we will be asking parents to assist with this (most likely only to occur twice a year). Additionally Iona Netball Club will be provided with a fundraising day which parents will be called upon to provide treats for sale, donate raffle items or staff the stall on a single Saturday.
NETBALL CO-ORDINATOR and COACHING CONVENOR 2019
Laura Game will be the Iona Netball Club Co-ordinator for 2019.
Julie Rowling will be the Iona Coaching Convenor for 2019
Please support Laura and Julie as they kindly take on these roles.
Iona netball club still desperately requires an umpires convenor for 2019. If you are able to roster umpires and arrange to see the umpires to make payment and offer support, please contact Tony Judge asap at firstname.lastname@example.org
Additionally, if you are able to roster and co-ordinate our canteen and set up/pack down duties and our fundraising day please contact Tony Judge at email@example.com
Please consider taking on one of these roles as our club’s success and continuation is dependent on volunteers.
