Come & Try day 2020

NET SET GO
This year we are encouraging boys and girls to play netball.
Players aged 5 (kindy) and 6 (Year 1) are invited to join the NET program. This is a fun 10 week introduction to Netball commencing in term 2, 2020. Your player will participate in fun games and activities to introduce them to fundamental skills used in netball.
The SET GO program is an introduction to netball with modified rules. It focuses on refining fundamental motor skills and introducing modified netball matches. During their second year of SET (return SET) the focus is on developing netball specific skills through modified netball matches. A parent information night for teams will be held once teams are formed in late February.

REGISTRATION
If your child is turning 8 or 9 (year 2 or 3) years old in 2020 please register them as a SET player via this link.

Players aged 17 + / or players playing in the senior competition must register as a SENIOR player, via this link.

Individual registrations are accepted for players 8 – 13 years of age and only full team registrations will be accepted for 14 – 17 years of age.
Iona Netball Club is pleased to accept the active kids voucher in 2020. Please make sure you apply for your voucher prior to registration and enter the number during the registration process ($100 will then be deducted from your payment balance).

NET players 5-7 years old (Kindy or Year 1)register directly through HVNA. Please email your interest to info@ionasportsclub.com and we will let you know when registration opens. This will not start until term 2, 2020.

GRADING DAYS
All players turning 10, 11, or 12 in 2020 will be required to attend a grading session. This will ensure players are placed in the most appropriate team.

Grading sessions:

Under 12s (Year 6) and Under 13s (grade 7): Wed 12th Feb 3:30-5pm
Under 10s (Year 4) and Under 11s (Year 5): Thurs 13 th Feb 3:30-5pm (players will be supervised from 3.20pm and are encouraged to bring a healthy snack and water).

TRAINING
Training times will be dependent on coach and player availability and will be confirmed once teams have been formed.
Each team will be required to nominate a team manager (team parent) to be the main contact and organiser for their team. This parent will be responsible for liaising with their team coach/coaches and may need to provide support during training and on game days.

SATURDAY GAMES
All games are played on a Saturday morning at Macquarie Park. Game times will mostly likely be the same each week and cannot be confirmed until the draw and grading is completed by Hastings Valley Netball Association which occurs after all clubs have completed the registration process and entered their teams.
The netball season begins on Saturday 21st March 2020.

UNIFORM
Iona Netball Club uniforms will be available for sale from the St Columba Anglican School Uniform Shop. Plain white playing socks will also form part of our uniform. Please feel free to sell netball uniforms that your player has outgrown on the SCAS exchange Facebook page or the Iona Netball Facebook page.

CANTEEN AND FUNDRAISING
As a club, we will be called upon to do canteen duty. This requires us to set up and pack down the courts and run the canteen. It usually occurs once or twice a season. Parents will be asked to assist with this. Additionally, Iona Netball Club will be provided with a fundraising day which parents will be called upon to provide treats for sale, donate raffle items or staff the stall on a single Saturday. Team managers will be asked to help organise their teams for these days.
