If your child is turning 7, 8 or 9 years old in 2018 please register them as a set player. If they are 10 – 17 years of age in 2018 please register them as a junior player. Please note that there is only a short window for registration and registrations close on February 10th 2018. No late registrations will be accepted unless there is a vacancy in a team. Individual registrations are accepted for players 6 – 12 years of age and only full team registrations will be accepted for 13 – 17 year olds.
We apologise we cannot accept the Active Kids Rebate Voucher for this season. The reason being is clubs needed to be registered for the program by late October 2017. Iona Netball Club was not a registered and affiliated club at this point in time. We will be registered for the 2019 season.
We are aiming for the majority of netball teams to train at 8am on a Tuesday or Thursday morning on the St Columba Anglican School netball courts. However, individual training times will be dependent on coach and player availability and will be confirmed once teams have been sorted.
All games are played on a Saturday morning at Macquarie Park. Game times cannot be confirmed until the draw is completed by Hastings Valley Netball Association which occurs after all clubs have completed the registration process.
The netball season begins on Saturday 17th March and finishes for 6 – 9 year olds on Saturday 18th August. 10 years and over play the following weeks if they make Semi Finals and Finals. Netball is not played in NSW Public School Holidays or on Public Holidays. Please note there is a Netta Carnival for players 6 – 9 years old on Sunday 18th March at Macquarie Park, Port Macquarie. This is a great way for new players to learn the game in a fun filled gala day atmosphere. Our returning netta team will also be welcome to play in this carnival.
All girls will be required to purchase an Iona Netball Club playing dress from the St Columba Anglican School Uniform Shop. We will advise you via email when these arrive. Plain white playing socks will also form part of our uniform.
As a club, we will be called upon to do canteen duty at the courts on a Saturday. Therefore, two adult representatives from your team will be asked to assist in the canteen for half an hour on a Saturday on occasions (most likely only to occur twice a year).
It is an exciting time for Iona Sports Club to be starting a netball club, but the start up of a new club is always a lot of work. Please note Iona Netball Club is run by volunteers (including myself) and as I also work full time, your patience would be appreciated. Any assistance with coaching, umpiring or managing will be greatly accepted. If you are able to coach, umpire or manage your child’s team please email me at j.chambers@scas.nsw.edu.au
I look forward to this exciting beginning for Iona Netball Club. Please contact me if you have any further questions, would like to offer assistance, or are experiencing difficulty registering online.
